Have Any Questions?
Questions we are most frequently asked about our gardening services.
Do you charge for coming out and giving me a quotation?
No, all of our quotes are FREE, in writing and with you within 24 hours of the quote visit.
Are you insured?
We have up to £5,000,000.00 Public liability Insurance.
Do I need to be at home when you visit me?
No, we do not need any power from the house as all of our machines are professional petrol driven ones. As long as the back gate is unlocked, we will turn up on the day we arranged with you and get the job done. All gates are closed at the end of our visit. Alternatively, some of our customers provide us with a spare gate/garage key.
How do I make payment for the work?
If you are a regular maintenance client, you will receive an invoice at the end of each month. You can either pay by BACS (bank) transfer over the internet, credit/debit card or cheque. If you are having a one-off landscaping project, then you will be asked to pay a 50% deposit prior to work commencing and then pay the balance when the job is completed.
Why should I choose Sunshine Gardens over other companies?
We know there are many choices for you out there but we provide a reliable, consistent and trustworthy garden service. We won’t let you down to go off and do another job; your weekly or fortnightly visit is the MOST important visit to us. We have been serving the Herts and Beds area for 27 years now and our teams are friendly and approachable. You won’t be disappointed with our work and service.
When will my regular garden maintenance start?
After you accept the quotation, we will be in touch to schedule the first visit which will normally be within 10 working days.
Why might I need an initial tidy up?
If you have had a gap between gardeners or you were dissatisfied with the level of service provided by your previous gardener, your garden will require an Initial Tidy Up for an addition fee before regular maintenance visits can begin. Our teams will focus on problem areas (e.g. excessive weeds, extensive growth of plants and build-up debris) and begin to get the garden in a manageable condition. Following the tidy up, maintenance visits over the next month will bring the property to its finished appearance.
How do Sunshine Gardens dispose of my garden waste?
We fully support environmentally sustainable practices and all garden waste is taken to a licensed site which turns all green waste into “Ace of Herts” compost available to buy.
Will you maintain my patio flower pots & vegetable beds?
We cannot hand weed flower pots or care for vegetable beds because these are areas require more love and attention then our weekly or fortnightly visits allow.
What if I prefer a specific day, can you accommodate my preference?
Yes, we now offer a “Gold Plus” service which allows you to choose your preferred day.
Will I still get service when it rains or shortly after it rains?
Your garden LOVES rain. A good, healthy, long drink of water is so good for your lawns and gardens. Depending on the intensity and duration of the rain, we will endeavour to complete most of our service on days of inclement weather (this may mean we need to pop back later in the week). Unlike domestic gardening machinery, we use commercial petrol gardening equipment which gives professional results in all weathers, therefore where possible it is still good to keep your visit.
Is there anything I need to do priopr to your regular visits?
PETS – If you have pets, please ensure their mess is moved prior to our gardeners attending. This is for the Health and Safety of our Team members and to avoid contamination of our machinery.
Childrens Toys/Equipment – Please could you clear any children garden toys and equipment out of the way to avoid damage to items or our machinery and potential injuries to our gardeners.
